The Dance of Knives Rogue feels made for players who want to keep moving. In Season 15, it can tear through Torment 12 by turning every spin into a Poison-heavy damage-over-time sweep. If you are putting the character together from scratch, picking up the right D4 items early makes the whole ride feel far less rough. The real appeal is not just raw damage. You zip into a pack, keep the knives going, and watch the room disappear while bosses still take serious pressure. It is fast, direct, and a lot more forgiving than it first looks.

Getting the Spin Online

Dance of Knives is the centrepiece, and Star Shards changes how it plays by giving it Marksman scaling and a wider shatter effect. Energy Cost Reduction matters a ton here. So do Pierce, Size, and attack speed. Without them, the skill can feel flat or run dry at the wrong moment. Shadow Step handles awkward situations, giving you Unstoppable and pulling attention through Artifice. Dark Shroud is worth pushing hard for speed and protection, while Concealment gives you a handy Fortify button through Recuperate. Go with Preparation as well. It keeps Shadow Clone coming back quickly, which is exactly what you want when an elite pack or boss shows up.

Why the Imbuement Package Works

Spellbound Steel is where the build really opens up. With all five charm pieces equipped, Inner Sight comes online automatically. While it is active, Dance of Knives can carry Poison, Cold, and Shadow effects at the same time. That means you can pour most of your skill points into Poison Imbuement, then take just enough Cold and Shadow to unlock their useful bits. Cold helps lock enemies down. Shadow spreads the damage around. Poison does the heavy lifting. Baal powers fit neatly into that plan, especially Ice of Excidium, Seizing Frost, and Shattered Flesh.

Use Splinter of Hellfire in jewellery for a large damage boost.
Keep Cold Imbuement available for chill, control, and Barrier support.
Prioritise Poison Resistance because Stone of Jordan turns it into both defence and offence.

Gear, Paragon, and Backup

Cowl of the Nameless, Death's Pavane, and Penitent Greaves give the build much of its pace. Death's Pavane is especially important: dropped blades refill Energy, and grabbing them keeps your damage climbing. Tal plus Eth on the chest adds life, speed, and a teleport-style evade, which feels great in crowded fights. Etna's Lost Dagger and Asheara's Khanjar are strong weapon choices, while an Imitated Imbuement effect lets Shadow Clone repeat your full elemental package. On Paragon, look for non-physical damage, Poison duration, resistances, and bonuses against controlled enemies. Versatility, Tracker, Eldritch Bounty, Canny, Efficacy, Cheap Shot, and Dance Macabre all have a place.

Staying Safe in Higher Tiers

Raheir is the easy pick for the main companion slot because Ground Slam, Bastion, and Inspiration cover several problems at once. Aldkin works nicely as reinforcement, slowing enemies and cutting the damage they deal. With that support behind you, the Rogue can stay aggressive instead of backing off every few seconds. It is worth checking your resistances, movement speed, and Energy sustain before chasing another damage roll. A few well-chosen cheap D4 items can smooth out those weak spots, leaving you free to keep spinning through the toughest encounters.
